I wanted to give you a heads up on our 20 year reunion date; it has been set for the weekend of August 6-8, 2010. We have been able to get a great discount rate for out of town guests at Lake Natoma Inn, where the main Saturday event will take place. Additionally, all weekend activities will take place around Old Town Folsom to make it easy for coordination.

The general schedule will be:

·         Friday, 8/6- No Host Happy Hour/Mixer at a bar (TBD) in Old Town Folsom for anyone wanting to get together and see who shows up! J

·         Saturday, 8/7- Buffet Dinner reception at Lake Natoma Inn from 6-11. Price will be about $70 per person to include dinner, DJ, photographer, site rental/service, decorations. I am finalizing the menu and that will determine final cost. Bar will be no-host for both cost and liability reasons…as you all can imagine.

·         Sunday, 8/8- No Host Family morning at a park (TBD) for families to meet each other’s kids! J Bring your own snacks.

In an attempt to keep costs as low as possible…

·         We will not be sending a paper invitation but relying on Facebook and email communications. On Facebook, we have a BVHS Class of 1990 group established and have about 130 members thus far; I would encourage you to join if you have not already. Also- Please forward this to any classmates that you have email addresses for. I will also have details posted on the official Bella Vista High School alumni site.

·         We will not be using the vendor from last time, but trying to do it on our own; early payment will be helpful to help manage the hotel deposit. J

·         I have opened a checking account specifically for this event so all financial transactions will be public and if anyone has questions on where the money goes, we have documentation to share.

·         We will develop a “memory book” on the computer rather than printing one…so people will receive some kind of doc (either power point or word) with everyone’s bio. If any of you are computer gurus…we still need a volunteer to help build this.  We will also be able to get everyone’s email this way for future communication. J

·         If any of you know a photographer that would come and take pictures and be willing to just give us a disc at the end of the night…so we can post all pictures on a website and let people ‘buy’ what they want….would love any recommendations!!

·         This goes the same for a DJ…..we are considering not using a DJ but just setting up a play list to go through the evening.  After speaking with Class of ’88 and ’89 presidents…they said there was not much dancing but a lot of talking and mingling. For those that want to keep the party going, there are clubs/bars walking distance from the hotel to Old Town Folsom.

If you have any other thoughts….please share!  I have had several people offer to help which has been nice and it is just a matter of finding the right task for each person’s interest/skill set. IE, computer savvy, music savvy, name tags/organization, database management, etc.
